Farmhouse Sign Using a Pallet Board

I used an old piece of pallet wood to make a farmhouse-style wood sign. I'm planning to hang it on the wall, but for now I have it perched on a table in our living room.

I printed the letters on plain printer paper (several pieces). If you are curious, I used "Bernard Modern" font in 400pt. The pallet board is about 45" x 5".
I used plain white chalk to color on the back side of the paper, then arranged it on my pallet board and used a sharp pencil to heavily trace the letters, transferring a chalk outline onto the wood.

Using a small angled brush, I carefully painted inside my traced lined. I'm not going to lie - it was a slow process. I'd recommend taking breaks (don't be a fool like me and paint it all at once, ending up extremely thirsty with a sore neck).
I used Apple Barrel brand acrylic paint in "white" and used two coats.
I didn't worry too much about the texture since I knew I'd be lightly sanding it to add to the "aged" look I love.
I let the paint dry overnight before sanding...
Here it is after a quick sanding! Ta-da!
And the finished product which will be hung on the wall - hopefully today when my handyman husband gets home from work (ladders and I do not get along very well).

I loved making this sign and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Want one with your family name or something custom? Let me know! Maybe I can make it for you?
