Pink & Green for College

https://sew-handmade.blogspot.com/2026/08/pink-green-for-college.html
Our daughter is leaving for college in a few weeks and she and I worked together to make this quilt for her new home. She chose the fabric and design, I did the sewing and quilting. I love that she will have a homemade quilt as she begins this new chapter.

It was also fun to see her choose fabrics and realize these pinks and greens are the very same colors we used for her nursery before she was even born! 🥰

The fabrics are mostly from Brenda Riddle's "Abide" line. We mixed in a bunch of low volume favorites with lots of soft pinks and greens.

The backing is a soft flannel to make this quilt feel extra cozy.

We will miss her so much but are so happy for her! Luckily she will only be about 3 hours from home, so we will be able to visit often.

Navy Blue & White

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
I finished this quilt on the 4th of July. I liked the idea of a blue and white quilt to hang with my red and white quilt on the quilt ladder my dad made me. It's so cute for 4th of July! I also love to use red, white, and blue for Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. ❤️🤍💙

The whites are a variety of low volume prints from a bunch of different fabric lines. The navy blues are all prints from Bonnie & Camille. The backing is my favorite cheater print from Nantucket Summer fabrics.

Aqua Quilt

 www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com

This quilt is all 4.5" half-square triangles made from various Bonnie & Camille aqua fabrics. It feels like such a happy quilt. I wish I could have taken it to the coast for photos... isn't it just beachy?!

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
The backing is one of my favorite vintage sheet finds, ever! It's such a pretty print and the colors look just perfect with the aquas on the front.

Trailer Quilt

I've had the Joy in the Journey panel for a long time and decided to make a quilt for our camp trailer. Our trailer is very dark and beige/brown inside, so this bright and happy quilt is perfect! I made it to size to fold over our couch, which is the first thing you see.

I have a couple of little trailers leftover to make some matching throw pillows, too. :)

Touch of Spring Panel Quilt

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
I was actually looking for a house/village quilt pattern when I came across the Touch of Spring quilt panel and fell in love. These little buildings with the pink blossoms are just too stinkin' cute! I cut up the panel and added the sweet floral sashing and pink cornerstones and I love how it turned out!

The backing is the Melody Carpenter Star cheater print. I love using cheater prints as backing fabrics for a fun little surprise.

Green & White

I made these green and white placemats for a Christmas gift and added a green and white quilt to my wish list. These fabrics (by Camille Roskelley) are just too dreamy.

And here it is! I used a pattern from this book and I think it looks so pretty in green!

Red & White Triangles

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
I was inspired by @redrainbootshandmade and made my own red and white triangles quilt!
www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
These are 4" half-square-triangles made from assorted red fabrics by Bonnie & Camille.

I love that it looks cute with my Christmas quilts and decor, but also will work for Valentine's Day, 4th of July, and just adding a cute pop of color year-round.

Also... big shout out to Color Catchers who definitely saved the day! I put a very generous handful in the wash and the quilt came out perfectly with no bleeding.

Christmas Village Panel Quilt

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
In my marathon of Christmas quilt making this year, I found this super cute panel by Rebecca Canale for Studio E.  I just added a simple border using Fig Tree Holly Eyelet fabric.

Santa Quilt

A few weeks ago, I had the idea to make a bunch of Christmas quilts so the quilt ladder my dad made me a few years ago would be festive. And I haven't stopped thinking about this idea since!

I loved this panel and decided to separate the little Santas to make a cute patchwork. Here's a link to the Santa panel. The background fabric is a cute garland print from a line called Joyful Joyful by Stacy Lest Hsu, but is a little hard to find these days.

More Christmas quilts coming soon, because it is alllllll I can think about these days! 🤣

Low Volume : Christmas Edition

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
I made another low volume and triangles quilt. Click here to see my pink version and my blue version. But this Christmas version might be my favorite yet!

www.sew-handmade.blogspot.com
I love these low volume Christmas fabrics so much! They're from a variety of designers. And the solid triangles are a bunch of red, burgundy, light green, and dark greens. I cut my light fabrics into 5 inch squares and sewed 2.5 inch squares into the corners to make the triangles.
