Our 2012 Christmas Tree

We went hunting for our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving (per tradition, our only "black Friday" purchase!). And guess what? We found one!

Our little helpers checking out the selection.
A few hours later (with the help of a long nap from the boy child...) and we have our 2012 Christmas Tree!

I'll come back soon with some details about some of our ornaments. We have lots of homemade treasures made over the years.

And here's one picture with the lights off. It's lovely and I find myself gazing at it quite often during the day. Now if only my daughter's kitten would show it a little less attention.......

More details coming soon!

Christmas Ornament

Yesterday I had a few minutes and a lot of inspiration and made a Christmas ornament. It was absolutely the last thing I should have been spending time on, but it turned out cute and made me happy. Sometimes it's nice to "run away" from what I should be doing and just do what I want. :)

Today my little one is with Grandma and my big one is at school - after I finish editing some client photos, I'm hoping to spend some time with my sewing machine, so hopefully I'll have something else to share soon!

Christmas Trees

Our Christmas Tree and two of the ornaments we made this year (on the left side).

The top ornament is just a clear ball filled with inexpensive beads. The bottom is a plain ceramic ornament painted by my almost 4-year-old with gold paint - we do this every year.

We also found this bargain wooden tree at Michaels Crafts and painted it with green and red. I love how it turned out and plan to include it in our Christmas decorations for years to come. I also bought an extra so Matthew can paint one when he gets old enough.
