Okay so these blocks have been sitting for almost 3½ years, leftover from this quilt (still one of my all-time favorites, it lives on our couch and gets used nearly everyday). I decided to use it as a table topper on our kitchen table. What is a table topper? Somewhere in between a table runner and a place mat... something cute to put on the table.
It measures about 15.5" square and will live in the center of our table.
The back is a cloth napkin I bought at Pier 1 a few years ago but never used. Until now!
The black and white fabrics nicely compliment the fabrics I used to recover the chairs last year.
Here's a view of the table with the topper. It's a nice size for the table and a nice alternative to the place mats I've made (which I loooove but end up having to wash after one or two meals because my children seem to drip and spill more when there's something I love nearby!).
And, since I don't believe I've shared - I finally got my plate collage hung up in the area above the table. It's a collection of different plates from all over. I painted the tree one on the left side.
And after the success and all the compliments my husband received for his work on our amazing china cabinet, he's been considering painting this table with the same distressing technique. I can't even begin to tell you how much that makes my heart flutter.......
