The first quilt waiting to be finished is my sister's purple throw. The quilt top is done, but I don't have enough batting (the cotton middle piece in a quilt), so I can't layer it and complete it until I can get some funds and head to the fabric store.

The second is the floral throw-blanket that I hinted about earlier in the week. It's a more contemporary pattern than I typically make, but it was fun to try something new. I love the floral fabrics and warm colors. I think this is a very "happy" quilt.

Some detail of the fabrics that I love...

The third quilt-in-progress is this sweet little baby quilt. It's made mostly from a charm pack (package of 5"x5" square pieces of fabric) that I picked up at a quilt store in Carpenteria. I added in a few of my own and it became a little patchwork.

On top of that, I've recently started teaching some family members how to make quilts, too. Amy & Nicol are coming over for weekly lessons. It's pretty funny - I still feel like a beginner until I realize just how much I've learned in the last year-and-a-half and how excited I am to share it with other people.
Whew! What a week! Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on some "fun" money soon (the quilting budget has been depleted - imagine that!). I need to buy a giant supply of batting so I can wrap these three up and get them out of here. I'm anxious to move on to the next project, whatever that may be.
