Applique

I am trying, and struggling, to learn how to do appliqué (shapes cut out of fabric and attached to other fabric). I'd like to have the option to add a graphic or a monogram to the quilts that I make. I also love the idea of dressing up some of my daughter's plain t-shirts and dresses.

This letter "M" was my first attempt and it definitely leaves room for improvement. It's a little wonky and I definitely have more to learn, but Mia doesn't seem to mind.
